I can be pretty detailed and careful and all that but it looks to be a PITA. There's a reasonable looking tutorial on battery-changing on YouTube, but (even if I disregarded the Korg tech guy's advice to absolutely not try and do it myself) it does look kind of arduous and painstaking, with something like 16 different screws that are not all interchangeable, etc. plus it'd cost me $60+ just to have a shop change the battery. I *really* don't want to deal with shipping my keyboard out somewhere, and I believe all the music shops here in Chicago area are still closed. The Korg tech guy had said they 'don't recommend' changing the battery oneself. While I do have an old laptop in the closet that I've never used, in order to download (and *keep*) the sounds from the Korg website I'd have to replace the M1's battery myself, plus deal with this laptop I've never used. Even if Fall classes are live and in person instead of via Zoom, I still want my wonderful sounds back so I can play at home! (just the Korg M1 factory sounds, I mean. I really need to get my only keyboard working again though. I could've participated I guess but what with the combination of some Zoom problems plus the fact that my low-battery Korg M1 had/has only one flat, thin 'clavinet'-like sound, the teacher just said she'd go ahead and use recorded music. I wasn't able to join in via Zoom for the remaining six weeks of Spring semester for Ballet classes I accompany.
